Doris Mekedis Tingley passed away January 13, 2021 at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.
She was born and raised in Cleveland with a strong Greek heritage from her late parents, Barbara and Steve Mekedis.
She was a much-loved teacher for many years, and a proud graduate of Euclid High School and Ohio University.
She was also a proud supporter of everything Cleveland, especially the sports teams, the performing arts, and the museums.
She loved dancing, music, Greek food (especially the Greek festivals), going out to eat with her friends, and Pepsi. She also loved celebrating holidays, especially Christmas.
Doris will always be remembered by everyone she knew.
She loved her family deeply, and always made sure to let them know through cards, gifts and phone calls.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Howard; three children, Barbra (P. Ryan Parker), Howard (Amy), and Steven (Erin O'Reilly).
She was the loving yiayia (grandmother) of seven, including Jacob, Christina, and Luke Parker;
Sophia, Elizabeth, and Katherine Tingley; and Azalea Tingley.
She is also survived by her sister, Dianne Kollias, and was the aunt to six nieces and nephews.
