Obituary
Ronald Ions “Ron” age 83 of Hinkley passed away March 2, 2024. Beloved husband for 63 years of Carole (nee Zupancic). Much loved dad of Mary Lynn Matese, Susan (Walter Podgorski) and Nancy (David Bunjevac). Grandpa of Crys’Dawna (Kris), Rachel (fiancé Ryan Blackburn), Ashley, Adam Gaumer (Susan) and Elisabeth and great grandpa of 13. Brother of Donna (Jack Golden) and Mary Beth Ions (Eugene Liberman). Uncle of 4.
Ron was a lifelong car enthusiast, building his machines to perfection. For many years, he dreamed of owning a Harley Davidson and in the late 80s he not only bought a Harley but built numerous custom bikes.
Ron had great fashion sense and no doubt, many were in awe of his dedication to his health and physique. A hardworking man who cared for his devoted wife and 4 indoor kitties: “His Boy” Harley, Mama, Missy and Cali as well as many feral kitties. At 83 Ron maintained a schedule that would exhaust men half his age. But now, it is time for Ron to finally rest.
Ron joins his parents Elmer and Florence, first born grandbaby Crystal Dawn and his “wingman” Ray Chieky. The family has taken some comfort in the birth of Ron’s 13th great grandbaby, Alora (meaning in God’s light) who was born just 23 short hours from when Ron began his journey to heaven.
